The Banana Tree is an English speaking private residence overlooking the bay between Floripa and the mainland. It has four guest bedrooms, two of which share a large sea facing balcony. All of the rooms have been recently decorated using reclaimed Brazilian wooden furniture and paintings by local artists. A large shared living area downstairs leads through to a garden, barbecue area and sundeck, and guests can access the beach directly through the garden. What we offer Our aim is to offer a home from home for people wanting bed and breakfast accomodation. The house particularly suits groups and families, and for parties of 6 or more we offer exclusive use of the top floor and balcony area. All guests are welcome to make themselves completely at home in all the communal areas. A ‘continental’ style breakfast of fresh fruit, cereals, cheese, eggs & toast, juice, coffee & tea are served daily on the patio. The Banana Tree can also be rented weekly in its entirety on a self catering basis, and can sleep up to 10 people. We will check you in and show you the house, give you a basic orientation and then its up to you! Whichever type of holiday you chose, we can give you as much or as little help as you would like in planning the perfect trip. We offer a number of day trips, overnight trips and treks for bed and breakfast guests so that you can find your way around the island. And if you are interested in any of the many activities available on the island, we will be happy to point you in the right direction. We offer you the chance to explore Floripa stress and hassle free with the luxury of local knowledge, and a friendly helping hand.

Your Hosts
We both have wide experience working in travel, tourism and customer service industries. Ian is a qualified microlight flying instructor and tandem hang glider operator, and is an experienced windsurfer and kite surfer. (click here for more info about hang gliding or microlighting in the UK.) Anna’s interests are more of a cultural bent, and we can guarantee you plenty of books to read if that’s your thing. Our aim is to help our guests enjoy the best the island has to offer, in a relaxed, sociable atmosphere. |

Sambaqui The Banana Tree is located in the quiet village of Sambaqui, on the north west of the island. The neighbourhood’s Azorean roots can be traced through its many interesting and colourful buildings. The small beaches offer stunning views across the bay to the mainland, and Florianopolis city. Sambaqui is around a 15-20 minute drive from the popular beaches on the north of the island, including Jurere.
